On 28th May the first year, higher level pig breeding students visited the above site to further their knowledge. They were well-looked after by Santi Serrabassa and his daughter Anna (a former Quintanes student) who showed us where they breed ecological chicks. They explained how they set up the facility and what obstacles can arise with ecological products. They also showed us how they produce manure compost and the conditions necessary for ecological production. Our students learnt how their facility was adapted to an ecological one and also started to sell products direct to buyers in the area.
On 27th May the first year, medium level pig breeding students visited the above site. It is a farm that grows crops in an area of 1300 hectares and also works with pigs and in agrotourism. Marc Fitó, son of the owner, gave us an excellent visit, paying particular attention to explaining crop diseases and how to deal with them. He also showed us the different machinery they use on-site and what each piece was for. In terms of tourism, he showed us the accommodation they have in the rural tourism category. Our students could see the various types of projects in progress on one farm and how successful they really can be.

On 3rd of April the gardening students here at the school went on a study visit to the Muntanyà golf club in Seva. Despite the heavy rain we had the chance to look around the club, guided by those responsible for looking after the lawns. We were shown the different parts of the club, the types of grass on-site, the maintenance work carried out, the watering system and lots more. It was a fascinating visit because the students learnt about the dimensions and level of specialisation involved in running a golf club. The area the club is set in, the Montseny natural park, is also very beautiful. We would like to thank everyone at the Muntanyà golf club for welcoming us and Mr Josep Tió for his collaboration in making the visit possible.
